What paper setting are you selecting? I have found this has a tremendous
impact on the resulting profile. I ran Dan Culbertson's Ramp Chart on all my
papers with the various paper settings and the 9000 and 9500 drivers. I had
been using PQIJP with the 9000 drivers for 2+ years. After doing this
testing I discovered that that paper setting was putting down too much ink -
the dark blocks were all the same color, no visible transitions. I have two
9500's (one running Gen4 ink and the other Indelible), use a spectrocam on
PC, and Profiler Pro 2.2. I do make the blue hue change before I print my
profile charts. I use Adobe RGB as my color space, PQ Glossy Film as my
paper setting (for coated cotton print papers such as Osprey, Merlin,
Schoellershammer, Epson FA). The neutrals print neutral. I am not entirely
thrilled with the red and yellow, but they are MUCH better than I ever
obtained before.
And the profiles I generated with the 9000 drivers produce a much sharper,
smoother print than the profiles I generated with any of the 9500 driver
settings.
