I'm a suscriber of this list since several months, and I have a basic
question. I'm a photographer, scanning my pictures which must be good enough
for use in magazines or books, and digital printing. In which color space
should I work? I've been using Colormatch for several years now, but some
people around me are saying that Adobe 98 is the new standard in the
prepress industry. Thank you for your help.
The answer is visual and comes with a 'show me the effect' rendering
intent tutorial for Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. You can
download the Soft-proofing Settings rev21 module of the Eye-One Color
Cookbook from
http://www.apple.com/colorsync.
There is a prereading group listed on page 3. The prereading group is
made up of Adobe, CHROMiX, FOGRA, GretagMacbeth and Hewlett-Packard.
In the sequel Apple will join as will Olaf Druemmer for the PDF
standards people. The prereading group has the final say and only
consensus copy is released.
Under the hood it's a live PDF laboratory, so to speak. Because there
is only one path to learning and that is doing.
