Maybe if Epson were the only manufacturer of desktop inkjets, your statement
would be a valid one. Maybe if all manufacturers had RGB drivers as good as
Epson, it would hold too. But that's not the case.
Try dealing with an HP1220c, for example, through the RGB drivers. It's
absolutely impossible. Hell, even with PressReady it's terribly hard.
BestColor Designer edition, on the other hand, allows you to get as much as
possible (within the limitations of HP's fluorescent magenta) from it.
And there are reasons for people to buy non-Epson printers sometimes. For
example, Canon is the only manufacturer I'm aware of that has separate
cartridges (per color) on desktop -under $500- models.
I haven't tried Canon's RGB drivers, by the way... As they don't have an A3
model anymore, their appeal diminishes...
