if so what software can do this?

HexImage and HexVector from Pantone come to mind, for those cases where you
actually want to seperate the files to six channels in advance.
The two plug-ins that David refers to here come in a package called HexWare
that allows you to do Hexachrome separations, Hexachrome color correction,
and Hexachrome soft-proofing prior to sending the files to a RIP. HexVector
is our vector solution for Adobe Illustrator 9/10 Mac/Win and HexImage is
our raster solution for Adobe Photoshop 6/7 Mac/Win. This does include
support for OS X and Win XP. Please let us know if you require more
information about the workflow or the software.
