Any information like throw em away or keep em because .. is helpful.
First and foremost, if you have a question about a Sequel Product or its
utility for your application please feel free to email me at
email@hidden . I'll let you know if you should "throw them
away or keep 'em because" the odds are high that I either designed the
product or I was responsible for it's release (or in the case of prototypes,
it's escape).
Second: Sequel makes products for a wide range of market places besides the
desktop publishing market. In general we make products to work with OTHER
COMPANIES software. This is particularly true in the desktop publishing
field. In many cases a vendor may request that we write or modify an
application such as ProColor for their specific use. In other cases, we
simply supply driver and toolkit technology. The "free" software that is on
our web site (if it still is there) is normally used only for demonstration
purposes. It is generally many generations behind the software sold by the
vendors that utilize our technology. The drivers should be current,
however.
Third: Simply because it looks like a standard Sequel Product, don't assume
that it works the same with every piece of software written for other Sequel
products. For instance, we make many products for use in calibration of
home theater systems. The calibration and other optical properties of these
devices are not necessarily suited for use in Desktop Publishing systems.
The same is true for products out of the Medical Products family.
Finally, I just want to thank you all for both your support and your
critiques of our products. I set aside an hour a day to read this list and
other technical lists and while I don't often acknowledge a point, be aware
that we, at Sequel, take your constructive comments (both good and bad) to
heart and we try our best to pass improvements on to our partners. The
process is long because it often involves language differences, contract
issues and intellectual property issues as well as field support issues. In
any event, if you think you have a problem with something we have made,
contact me or email@hidden and we'll try get the problem
resolved.
Thanks
Tom
