Hi All,
After reading the reply from Jack below regarding 'camera profiles' I have
some questions I would liked answered,
any help would be greatly appreciated. I am using 'Lightphase' technology
and I found from the start that when
grey balancing whether on a greyscale, macbeth colour chart or on the
product (e.g stainless steel knives and forks)
the balance was way off. After going into the software and manipulated the
RGB curves, the program is now grey balancing
very well. Although the program can now neutralise colour casts, the chip
in the camera has trouble rendering specfic
colours. I have mentioned to Paul Hossum (LightPhase) about including a
colour correction table or sector within the program
like 'Sinear Leaf' have done, so I carry out selective colour corrections .
Paul's comment was that they are currently looking
into this option. I am in the process of convincing my general manager to
invest in some icc profiling software, so I can create
profiles for our digital cameras, scanners, monitors, inkjet printers etc.
One of my questions is has anyone used PM4.0 to create a profile using
LightPhase tecnology - if so what were the results?
Is ProfileMaker 4.0 one of the best ICC profiling programs when used with
Spectrolino,SpectroScan as I have heard PM4.0
allows you to edit specfic colours within a profile ?
My apologies if my questions are not entirely clear - I am a scanner
operator by trade and only have a basic understanding
of the potential of icc profiles. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Exactly my point.

Now you can create a profile with the "whatever" light source before hand

no matter where you are doing. This is now called a "general profile". And

to do is gray balance. In addition, you do not need to color correct for
