This is WITH ColorSync options on right? You'll never get neutral values.
You are getting the values through the input/output profile which does seem
odd. I know that if you gray balance with all the ColorSync preferences OFF
you'll get gray balance (R=G=B) but the values will alter as soon as you
turn on the ColorSync options. While the values are not R=G=B, I'd have to
hope that you are getting the benefits of the gray balance in the software.
At least that is my experience. Would be nice if the software would provide
two info palettes for raw and then "converted" color.

I was able to produce good digital camera profiles with the ColorChecker DC
and a LightPhase and PMP 4.0. The editor (which can edit input profiles) is
also a way to tweak those selective color issues you have (assuming gamut
isn't an issue).
