Lee, the first thing I'd always check when a particular Windows app is acting
strange is to hold down the CTRL key while double clicking the executable
file. In some apps this can reset any parameters that are acting weird, but I
can't say that it works or doesn't work specifically with ONYX ( I only have
an old version 4.5 that I don't use anymore). I'd be kind of suprised if you
couldn't find the folder which contains the quicksets and profiles and just
drop them back into the same folder once the program is re-installed. My first
approach would be to save these folders, re-install ONYX ( in case it is
simple file corruption) and let ONYX overwrite the current install, the only
thing that this might not fix is a registry problem. If the whole computer is
flat-out acting flaky, both Win2k and XP installs can be repaired from the
original CD without starting from scratch, simply insert the CD and boot from
it, and follow the "recovery console" instructions. The whole thing sounds
more like the color mangement engine in ONXY is wacked, I know that they don't
use ICM so Windows can't be the culprit of poor color in this case.
