Well as far as Postershop goes, I don't think that the product has been helped
by its seemingly constant change of ownership. A few people that I know simply
bypass the ONYX CM engine and do profile to profile conversions in PS, and
ship the converted data over for printing only. The latest version of
Production house is simply full of a zillion options. While the control freak
in me likes this, there are WAY too many little settings that if altered can
be absolutely catasrophic to the output even if only a single setting is wrong
. The product is good, but it seems that there are few too many "undocumented
features".
I'd be very suprised if formatting and re-installing Windows did anything to
alleviate the problem and might be considered an extreme measure since ONYX is
the proroblem. A full re-install of Onyx should only take minutes and may
over-write a trashed file, and things may just be that simple and you can get
back to work without taking half a day. I'd also look to see if when profiles
were moved to a different directory, were there any other files that didn't
get moved at the same time, either hidden files or maybe of another filetype
other than ICM files. Good luck.
