Yes, that's my understanding. It will gladly accept a tagged CMYK file and
deal with it appropriately however.

I don't think so. If you hand it a CMYK target, I expect you could profile
it as such. It doesn't have the Quickdraw limitations that always expects
you feed it RGB.
