White point temperature

I am using the Eye-One Pro with ProfileMaker 4.1 software (Thanks to the
great feedback on this list). I am having a bit of a problem with the color
balance of my monitor profiles. The 5500 setting is too warm and the 6000
setting is too cool. What setting works best for most of you?

I would also like to know if you recommend editing the monitor profile in
profile editor to match your profiled and printed output or just giver a
small tweak to the RGB guns on the monitor?

Thanks for the help.

Todd Morrison
