That's the one similar to the "old" Stouffer Cameraman's gray scale, right?
I'm pretty certain they're just silver scales produced on B&W photographic
print paper. And of course it's a reflection scale.
For reflection scanning, it really doesn't matter if it's a silver scale or
carbon dye (if there is such a thing) since it essentially becomes a
"diffuse" density as opposed to transmission scanning. And of course, the
standard reflection scales can't produce much over a 2.2-2.4 density, if
that, so aren't really suited for testing dynamic range.
