>Input: Digital camera or scanner or other device input profile
>Display: Monitor profile
>Output: Final destination space
>Proofer: Proofing device
Input: Class mntr and scnr
Display: Class mntr
Output: Class mntr and prtr
Proofer: Class mntr and prtr
Note that Input does not work quite the way the ICC Specification
suggests. According to the Specification an input profile converts from
device space to profile connection space only. This way Input would
only allow class scnr profiles to be loaded, but it also allows class
mntr which the ICC Specification groups with class prtr as output
profiles. Output profiles are required to support both a device space
to connection space and a connection space to device space conversion,
or in other words be bidirectional.
Anywayy. in the ColorSync UI the term Input should be understood in the
everyday language sense of an RGB unit and not in the technical sense
of a class of profile limited to converting into the PCS.
