This is hot. At least for me, it is. I needed to capture the Levels dialog
box out of Photoshop 7. So, sure enough, I brought the said dialog box to
the screen by pressing Command+L in Photoshop. I then proceeded to capture
the dialog box with Command + Shit + 4, and hit the Space bar to just
capture the dialog window and not the whole screen. When finished, as usual,
OSX saved the captured pixels in a PDF file on my desktop (I don9t think
that's configurable otherwise).
The nice thing about it is when I dragged and drop the PDF icon
corresponding to that fresh screen capture onto the Photoshop icon in my
dock, I got a Profile mismatch warning. That's right, a Profile Mismatch
warning. I would have expected a Missing Profile warning but no. Guess which
embedded profile was in there? That of my current ColorSync ICC Display!
How logical and brilliant. Way to go Apple. Makes my OSX day!
