Many of you will be interested in a new book I have written called
Understanding Color Management, by Abhay Sharma, 352 pages, Delmar Thomson
Publishers, 2004. The text covers basic color science, illuminants,
metamerism, CIE color, instruments, scanner, camera, monitor, printer and
press profiling, ColorSync utilities, gamuts, rendering intents, Photoshop,
profile testing, etc. There are some great pictures and illustrations. The
foreword is written by Prof Tony Johnson, Technical Secretary of the ICC.
The book is now shipping from Amazon for $38 (in US) with free shipping.

Another document of interest to color management users is the WMU Profiling
Review. This is a technical review of the accuracy of ICC profiling software
and covers Monaco, GretagMacbeth, ICS basICColor, Fujifilm, etc. You must
have a look at these numbers before you buy your color management system.
The document is available as a free pdf download from the following web
page. We are currently working on the next version of the review and a round
up of the latest profiling products. The update is due in December 2003.
