Hi,
I must tell that Eric's message is very strange for me. We are using now 10
Barcos in our studio (6 of them are brand new 5 - Personal calibrator and 1
Reference). I know, that there is a lot of people who believe, that they are
too expensive, but I haven't ever got such a problems like Eric described.
We are using Barco display technology since 1992 (as one of the first Polish
customer)
We are working on Win2k and Mac OS 9 - may be that's the reason.
No problems with stability and geometry were never observed. (Our equipment
is really heavy working as we work 24h/7d) Of course parameters of
particular display goes down with time, but that's not the point. From time
to time we need to recalibrate them, and adjust geometry (especially after
relocating display to a different place, - but it is I believe obvious.
As for dimming - it depends on White point and gamma settings that is
adjusted.
With two of them, the newest, in the beginning there was some strange
problems. I must tell - not common for Barco (Strange enlightened areas on
corners with green and red colour) but our local service crew advise us to
reset them to factory settings, and start geometry and calibration from the
beginning. They were right. After doing this - they are working excellent!
So Eric, may be try this way, it should help!
Best regards
