Hi all
I have the following setting:
OS X 10.3.1
ColorSync: RGB-Profile: sRGB
TIFF File with ECI-RGB Profile attached
I load this image in Word and it gets converted from ECI-RGB to sRGB.
Alright till now.
I don't think it's getting converted from ECI-RGB to sRGB. When I place
tagged images into Word, the color appearance depends on the ColorSync
RGB Default profile, and the color appearance is totally wrong as well.
Whereas untagged images always look the same regardless of ColorSync
RGB Default profile, which also seems wrong. In fact this behavior is
backwards, especially considering the description about how the default
profiles apply only "when a document does not contain embedded
profiles" the document being the image I'm placing.
I think this is a bug. Pretty bad bug though.
Now I generate a PDF using the Quartz Engine (print dialog -> save as
pdf)
if I know check the image in the pdf it has the profile "Generic RGB
Profile" attached.
OK - I generate a quartz filer that has the sRGB profile to be used if
no profile can be found in the document. I again open the print dialog
in word, go to the colorsync pulldonw menu, choose my setting with the
correct defaultprofile, and again save the pdf. And again the Gerneric
RGB Profile is attached to the image.
My questionis now: What is the correct way to have the correct profile
attached to the rgb image?
I've had this problem also. I believe there are bugs with some of the
Quartz filters. I created one to produce PDF/X-3 and what I get when
saving out PDF with this filter selected is not PDF/X-3.
