It's a valid suggestion but I think it causes more problems, even if it solves this one. That is, it causes untagged RGB images to have seemingly random profiles assumed. Sometimes it's sRGB, sometimes it's monitor RGB, and sometimes it's Generic RGB. That's madness, or maddening - or both.
