Compact : Front feeder slot and front exit slot saves desk space.
Fast : A one part version of the ECI2002 is available in PM41 (a
quarter of an hour against five times that for the Spectroscan).
Multifeeding only necessary when print format does not support the full
chart length.
Autocalibrating : Before every measurement the instrument
autocalibrates. Cleaning of the internal calibration tile once a year
following instructions in the manual. No calibration strip to loose or
switch, no failure to calibrate.
X-Y tracking : Positioning / identifying bars at either end of the
chart define the top and bottom. User may load chart either top to
bottom or bottom to top for fail safe measurement. Tracking ensures
that aperture sits squarely over each patch, preventing cross-column
drift and cross-column measurement.
Built-in averaging : Multiple times across each patch, as specified in
manual.
Connectivity : USB to Mac and PC.
Filtering : Capture spectral data in PM41 and don't use filtering.
I simply don't know the Barbieri.
