I guess what I don't understand is what makes a device appear on a SCSI
chain in the first place. I approached this problem with the attitude
that since the scanner worked with the 2930, and OSX works with the 2930,
and the scanner driver (SilverFast Lino Saphir Ultra) was written for
OSX, that - well - it all should work, right? ..or at least show up as a
SCSI device.
My question to SilverFast tomorrow is: why did they write an OSX driver
for a scanner that is incompatible with that same operating system?
Doesn't something sound a little fishy here?
