Does anyone know...
Is there something similar to the old Epson Photo Quality Glossy Film
but for the new Ultrachrome printers (I'm thinking 2200 and 7600
specifically)?
I liked that old film substrate. (If I'm in the minority, so be it.)
In some cases, I made prints using an older Epson printer that looked
a lot like an Ilfochrome print, which I happen to like. Very glossy,
very nice colors, very smooth tones.
The new glossy papers have a problem in that the black (dark) areas
do not end up with the same sheen as the rest of the print. This is
especially (painfully) clear when you view prints from a slight
angle. The old film, like a chemistry print, did not exhibit this
problem.
I know that a solution might be to use a less glossy paper, but I'm
specifically interested in achieving that very glossy surface.
Thanks for any suggestions.
Armand
