customer uses a Monaco profiling package that provides linearization before
sending out profiling targets so they don9t have to mess with the LUTs which
are pretty good. After they have profiled the printer they simply send the
same lin chart out to 3update2 the ICC profiles if there is any drift from
the ideal tone curves. This is one unique advantage of the Monaco profiler
over competing products

Thanks for your response.
Is the linearization chart in Monaco output and measured before the
profiling target is output? I am using Greatag Macbeth's ProfileMaker Pro
which has a CMYK cal/lin chart that can be measured and applied to existing
profiles to "update" them but I thought that this was based on the
assumption that the profile target was originally output under linearized
conditions. Also, I have questioned whether the "update" should always be
applied to the original profile or if it could subsequently be applied to
already "updated" profiles.
