in the linearization step (prior to generating an ICC profile, if that
approach is used) of building a "desktop fingerprint".
It works, but seems peculiar logic to me - seems like this flies in the face
of the idea of the desktop fingerprint representing *only* the
RIP/printer/ink/paper combo. In other words, if it truly represents device
CMYK, why should max ink density values (limits) from some other "reference"
printing process be used to generate the desktop fingerprint?
