There are always high end attitudes on this list that interfere a bit with
the cost/value question you are asking. Lets put it this way: if I measure
Lab values from color patches (the only thing I need to do for building
profiles) the variance I get with a CM2S is not significantly higher than
what I get with any of the other patch readers on the market, in fact they
all vary from one another in different directions in roughly similar amounts.
The manual reading mode of the CM2S is more of an issue, but since most
current inkjets don't need high patch numbers for profiling, this is really
not an issue for most users either. You can add a different spectro
(including the $1500 version of the EyeOne) to your system later if you find
a reason to, most of the common spectros are supported by ProfilerPRO.
