Montespluga,
I would probably settle for a compromise if a dedicated soft proofing area
isnt available to you that can maintain these low light levels. If you get
your room down to just under 50 lux, turn your monitor away from reflections
and use a hood of some sort its a good start.
Some people wear black gowns and special hats too!!
Its perhaps better if you calibrate/characterize in the same lighting as you
intend to proof to get more consistent readings with the colorimeter.
