Hello list,
Whilst profiling a 2000p the other day it got me wondering how people can
cope with the huge colour shift on these pigment inks when moving from one
light source to another. I profiled on Epson Semi Gloss and thought I9d
made a big mistake as a red cast covered the entire test print. Same print
out using the canned profile turned the cast from red to green (at least
this was half expected)
Took both prints outside and Voila! my profiled print looks perfect and the
green one still looks ..well, green.
The effect is so dramatic that I cant see any use for these printers unless
the output is to be displayed outdoors.(which would make sense with the
added print life) So heres some questions!!
When the inks are empty is there anything to stop me from refilling them
with inks from 1270/80/90 and reprofiling?
Does anyone know what artificial light source displays as good as daylight
for these inks (my 5000K lightbooth sure doesn9t)?
When measuring with a spectro, actually how accurate is the measurement
compared to conventional inks as artificial light is thrown on the patches
by the spectro so it can be measured?
Is the output from the 2100/2200 affected by lighting as much as the 2000p?
I9d appreciate any comments
Peter
