should it not be off in OptiCal when PreCal is called from OptiCal?
PreCAL precalibrates the monitor in its raw state, so any video card
corrections in place are not used during the precalibration process, unless
you have stumbled onto an unreported specific configuration bug.

That's why PreCAL turns them off...
As Craig also brings up, how is it done when PreCal is

Simply by launching PreCAL.

There are a number of related issues that all need to be dealt with together.
I assume a future version of OptiCAL will do just that, rather than making
piecemeal changes that will interfere with one another.

You are asking for information about the state of the monitor that has not
been checked yet... asking that OptiCAL take the time to go back after
profiling and check the results would make the process unnecessarily slower
for users who don't care about this information. If you wish to confirm the
results of your calibration and profiling numerically in the info window,
then you will need to use the menu item and read another set of patches to do
this.
