I've just finished profiling a lowly EPSON 880 here with both FujiColourKit
v3.0.4 (using the FFEI i1 RGB 288 patches target) and ProfileMakerPro v4.1.1
(using the TC9.18 918 patches) with an EyeOnePro on Dupont CromaPro
SemiGloss paper. The targets were ran from Photoshop 6 on OS9 through the
usual EPSON QuickDraw RGB driver with NCA. To test the relative performance
of each profiles, I used PhotoDisc RGb target that I loaded in Photoshop 6
again, ConvertToProfile from AdobeRGB to either Fuji or PMP profiles, using
RelCol w/BPC, and printed with NCA the same way I had generated the
profiles.
The results? Both prints are virtually undistinguishable in a side by side
comparison on my GTI 5000K viewing booth. Reds are reds, neutrals are
neutrals, skin tones are smooth and soft in both cases.
I think this speaks volumes.
