Some colorimetric analysis can help you get to the root of the problem. Without getting into the nitty gritty of measuring and calculations, here are a few possibilities:
- if a fairly large delta-H (hue) then you may be looking at an ink hue change
- if a fairly large delta-C (chroma) then media could be a problem
- if a fairly large change in mid-tone density then the orifices in the print heads might be wearing.
there are other test points but they are not always conclusive...
