Yes, many monitors now support DDC, and balancing the RGB guns, etc... that
way instead of with front panel controls is certainly possible. This is also
how some proprietary Monitor-N-Puck systems work, though as a closed loop they
may actually do more adjustments automatically than an open system.

That is certainly one of the big issues with this software line. Lack of
robust distribution, changes in distribution, changes in product versions, upgrade
difficulties, and soft dongle issues are far more common complaints than
actual software problems.
