How are you accomplishing this?

Not a bad idea at all.

After about 18 months or so you should send the 'Lino in for
recertification. It's about $250 and it covers all parts and labor. 6 month
warranty too.

Well Spectrolino manufacturing is ISO 9000 certified so they have meet
certain tolerances in manufacturing.
It terms of camera profiles there is a bit more going on then what you are
writing about.

Profiles do not drift, printers do due to changes in ambient conditions. I
would ditch that 7000 printer and the Imation RIP (ugh!) as a 7600 is too
inexpensive to pass up. The 7000 is two generations back.
