Bingo, that's it! I'd totally spaced this out. 4.0.0 through 4.0.4
always forced RGB->CMYK conversions without Print RGB XT; and in QXP
4.1 Print RGB XT functionality was incorporated.
So the problem is actually even more surprising in that Paul was
thinking he was using an RGB workflow with QXP 4.0.0, when in fact it
was converting everything at print time to CMYK; and highly
questionable CMYK on top of it. And that looks better than the real RGB
workflow using QXP 4.1. I suspect that there is some kind of source
profile assumption or destination profile setting that is incorrect in
the workflow system being used; and that incorrect setting is actually
being compensated for by the questionable separations QXP 4.0 is
producing (two wrongs can sometimes make a right in color management).
