The scan files have no embedded profile even though the
configuration in the Epson driver is set to 'target = sRGB'

This problem occurs for 'admin' 'guest' and 'user' log-in's, so
I'm guessing it's not a permissions issue. Tried the demo version
of Silverfast 6.0 and color matching between preview & scan

is good, but I don't want to go down the silverfast route just
to solve this problem if I can avoid it.

Peter,
You better buy Vuescan to drive the 3200. The pro version at $
90.- approx. will allow any colour management you wish +
profiling with IT8 targets. The built in colour negative
estimations are very good as well. See: www.hamrick.com There's a
cheaper version with a shorter upgrade period.
For IT8 targets see:
http://www.targets.coloraid.de/
Good sets for a nice price.
Together it is the equivalent in quality to Silverfast or better.
One copy of Vuescan will drive most of your scanners and the
license covers 4 systems. Linux, OS X and Windows in one license
too.
There's a mailing list for the 3200: email@hidden
Can't answer your question, this works with Vuescan.
Ernst
