Dear list,
I have been using USB flash disks recently for transferring profiles
between Mac OS9, OSX, Windows 2000 and XP. It sort of works.
In theory it is by far simpler than using something like a Zip drive and
disk.
I am running into a few issues such as:
1. When I take a profile from a Windows computer and place it on the Flash
disk ( using the factory disk formatting) to transfer it to a Mac OS9 or X
system the file type and creator codes break.
2. When I take a profile from my OSX computer and place it on the Flash
disk to transfer it to a Mac OS9 system the file type and creator codes
break.
However, when I go from OS9 to OSX with a profile the transfer process
works.
One solution I tried was to buy a Flash disk for OS9 only transfers. I was
going to format the disk but OS9 says it does not support the Flash Disk.
Any suggestions of how to use a Flash Disk to transfer profiles between
different operating systems more efficiently would be appreciated.
Thanks
Jim Rich
