Barry, I had been looking around for all current and announced models
including the new Eizo who seems to be excellent. Problem is: all the
new screens have a too high native resolution. Unlike the CRTs, the LCDs
cannot use a lower resolution without displaying a less optimal image. I
can set the 1920x1600 pixels on my current 24" Sony and everything is
simply too small and puts the eyes at strain. I don't know how other
people will cope with this and the new Apple 23"HD (and the 20" is
simply a cropped 23"), but some reviews I read already mentioned this as
a serious problem for text work. So far I'm glad I could get hold of one
of the last new 22" through Ebay.
Good luck!
Paul

I've been watching your thread with great interest as I'm about to go
for a
large LCD also. I had it down to the Eizo and the Apple 20", however
Lacie
are to start shipping their new 20" LCD next week, it looks very
interesting
and pretty good value, so you may want to check it out before you buy.
Barry
