Thanks
I have calibrated and profiled three Phaser 7700's. With the newest
PhaserMatch software it is possible to select none (no Colour
Management)in the Quark driver. But before profiling it is important
to do a gray balance calibration. This is accessed from the front
panel of the 7700. It is a three step calibration/gray balance - it
does a highlight, mid tone and shadow balance.
The grey balance tool is a designed to be a visual tool. So be sure
to view the output in daylight/5000k. I noticed a significant shift
under some lights. I use my Spectrophotometer and read the swatches
to confirm the best gray balance.
After the gray balance run your cmyk target and read in. After
creating the profile you need to load the profile into the correct
directory within the software so it shows up in the PhaserMatch
software. In the software you will need to create a device link
profile. This profile gets patched into the ppd. So it is available
in Quark's/Photoshops pull down menu.
