Hi Terry,
Which paper gave you darker (lower L value) blacks? 8180, 7180, or
Epson's Commercial Proofing Paper SemiMatte?
Thanks,

Any suggestions?
Let me guess, getting about a 1.60 K density or less with the 9150/9180
paper? Pretty typical. If you want to stick with Best Proofing papers,
the 8180 and 7180 both work well. Dupont ChromaPro XP Gloss will get you
awesome K densities but it comes with optical brighteners.
As a compromise, my paper of choice has been Epson's Commercial Proofing
Paper SemiMatte. It won't give you the absolute max density (about
1.75-1.85) but it has zero UV brighteners and has a color cast very
similar to typical coated press sheets so you won't have to use absolute
colorimetric rendering, just use relative. Very good paper for the price
compared to the Best papers.
Good luck!
Terry
