I emailed Stacy directly but i thought I should speak to the group as
well. I have an Epson 5000 with a Fiery RIP for sale(CMYK+). It has
worked well for us without any problems. It has 2 paper trays that
support up to 11X17. This printer was the cats meow once and it still
prints great. We have replaced it with a Ricoh Color Laser.
Thanks all,

Hi,
Can anyone recommend a good color printer?
We are looking to replace our EPSON STYLUS PHOTO 1280 with
StylusRip.
We need to be able to print postscript files and print up to at
least
11x17. We are in a prepress environment and want to print proofs of
publications, as well as presentation pieces. We keep updated on the
latest
MAC OS operating system (except we are waiting awhile to upgrade to
Panther).
We have been unhappy with the 1280 because the ink heads get
clogged very
often and it does not reproduce colors as accurately as we would like.
Then
again, we've never had a custom profile made for it, so maybe that's
why? We
don't have profiling equipment, but we may be able to work into the
budget
to have someone make custom profiles for a new printer.
Thanks,
Stacy Cates
