I'm trying to choose an intermediate working space for our imaging
workflow.
Macintosh OS X 10.2.8 environment, Nikon LS8000 scanner, Roland FJ-500
8-color inkjet printer.
CURRENTLY this is our profile/colorspace scenario...
Custom scanner/input profile via ProfileMaker 4.1
Custom monitor profile via Monaco EZ color
BestRGB working space
"Canned" printer profile/s from Roland DGA
So far from my analysis our current profile/color space compatibility
can be characterized in the following way;
Conversion to working(BestRGB) from scanner profile will clip some
blues that the scanner can read.
Printer profile can handle some green/blues/turquoise that are out of
gammut in working(BestRGB).
While playing with other intermediate working spaces I found that;
ProPhotoRGB as a working space will clip no colors but it is rather
large...
Thinking in ideal terms....
Should the intermediate working space encompase all colors that;
1. The input device can record.
2. The output device can reproduce.
Or should I start taking my medication again.....
TIA for any guidance.
