I use i1Photo and PS7 on a 17" PB, and an Epson 2100 mainly on Epson
Enhanced Matte. After a few weeks of figuring out the knobs and swithes of
the software and print driver, my prints matched the screen, I was happy.
Then there was a slight green tint on the out-of the-box prints. Then I
used an aiport extreme as print server and got pink prints. I went back to
the direct printer connection and got a decent screen/print match. At this
point I had changed some, not all of the ink cartridges due to exhaustion.
Then there was a catastrophic green tint, and dark prints. I reprofiled
with i1Match yesterday, screen and printer. Profile built fine, first try.
Prints are much darker -murkier- than screen. I have gone back to old
screen profiles, some made by the excellent BasicColor, to check the
screen against the print. All screen images are brighter than the prints
which come out murky, but colors appear spot-on. I have checked the
print-driver settings and am printing at -6% ink, perceptual rendereing
through the profile I made. The results are dark, murky, nothing like the
PS preview. Can anyone tell me what is going on, and how I could get a
decent screen/print match again?
HELP!
Edmund
PS. I have redone my emhk profile yet again - prints indistingushably
from the previous profile.
