No, I have not tried the Belkin/MicroTech FireWire/SCSI adapter with the 836. OS X
registers SCSI devices at bootup time, that is why you normally have to start the SCSI
device before booting the OS. However, there is an alternative method. After the OS has
booted, plug the adapter into the FireWire port with the SCSI device already started.
Wait 30 seconds. This give the OS a chance to register the adapter. Then unplug the
adapter and wait 30 seconds. Then plug in the the adapter once again. This time the OS
will recognize the FireWire/SCSI adapter since it saw it once before and it will then
initiate registration for any devices attached to the adapter. This double plug/unplug
procedure is an OS X weirdness and not a fault of the adapter.
