I am in a similar situation with a commercial sheetfed printer where the
AGFA Sherpa inkjet proofs don't match up my simulation of their press! Which
do I believe : their proof or my proofs? It's tough on nerves. I've asked
them to look into where the discrepancy could come from but I doubt they
will have an answer and I am going to have to take a leap of faith. I hate
that. Because I could be wrong. Then I am going to have to pay for my
mistakes. But if I'm right then I'll have proove that their so-called custom
ICC profile they use in their RIP to simulate their press output is to be
taken with a grain of salt.

Tough times.
