I am a long time bestcolor user. I own three copies of it and I do Fine Art
Repro only.
All I use the rip for is it's linearization functions and ink limiting. I
don't like handling color management on the rip. Since all I do is print
raster files I would rather use the host computer to do all the color
management. My dream would be a rip that is more designed for my kind of
business. Where you can print a job, store it, back it up and restore it in
the future. In my business my customers order two or three sheets then I
don't see them again for three to six months then they place an order again
for the same thing.
It would be nice to see a striped down version of best without all the color
management stuff, postscrip, etc.
Just keep the new linearization tools and new job management.
