How are you going to know that it's the monitor or the printer which is
right?
If your judging the print with experience that printers have that says it's
right and the monitor is way off then, you are correct in searching a better
way to calibrate the Barco. The main advantage of the Barco though is it's
calibration and electronics to assure good color matching. So it could be
something with the calibrator/software or the monitor itself and of course
the video card.
Back to the question. Both the Monaco and the Gretag kits are very good at
what they do. Don't rule out some other kits such as ColorVision's offerings
as some are reporting to this list really excellent results.
It depends a lot on if you want to do just the Barco , or profile certain
media for the HP as well. The packages noted above are tailored to these
needs so you can pick the kit you need for the devices in mind.
