I made some custom profiles on the Okidata 9500. Nice targets (same gray
balance as a press -- I could not believe my eyes), nice colors but
disgusting screens (in my experience). No cigars, I guess. The 7700 is
discontinued. So don't bother. And, yes, custom profiling a 7750 yields
pretty good colors for a machine of that price. That's what I recommended my
university graphic design lab gets for the students. It's got improved
magenta and yellow toner. And the smoothest screens of all the machine I've
evaluated.
