profiling large format solvent base printer

Good day.
I have been calibrating my solvent base printer and can't seem to get good
solid colors. I had successful profiles when I was working with offset
presses. I know for a fact that cmyk base colors of offset are more closer
to the cmyk colorspace than with saturated solvent inks. I get a combination
of small amount of cyan in solid yellow and so with other solid colors.
I'm not sure if i'm suppose to solve the problem by changing my input
profiles with higher gamut colorspace or work with the profiles that I
created. Canned profiles together with it's bundled RIP works well with
solid and halftones but I want to work with different set of inks which only
mean that have to make new profile. Are there any other procedure to
consider when working with solvent based saturated inks when profiling?

Thanks and more power to the list

Albert
