I guess that your ColorSettings are absolute colorimetric.
The softproof you are trying to do is:
RGB - Lab - CMYK - Lab - RGB
The rendering intent for the RGB - Lab - CMYK conversion
is controlled by you, in the ConvertToProfile dialog.
But the rendering intent chosen for the CMYK - Lab - RGB
conversion is set up by the ColorSettings:
-> absolute colorimetric: This will lead to L-values of 14.
-> relative colorimetric: This will lead to L-values of 8.
using your sample color with a starting point of L=8.
