I think the easiest & fastest way to solve your problem is to print the
file right out of Illustrator to a Postscript level 2 file. Distill
that into a PDF (even distiller v. 4 or 5 will work) using the "print"
or "press" presets. Check the PDF to make sure nothing moved. Then open
the resulting PDF in Photoshop v7 at whatever size and resolution you
need. Done.
Just be mindful that whenever you rasterize a PDF into Photoshop it
shows you the color using the current working space.

This may be slightly off-topic, but maybe someone here has run into
this. A
client who does fine-at printing on Epson 10K printers has an
Illustrator
file (v7, I think) and when he rasterizes it in PS7 in order to send
it to
the RIP, objects in the Illustrator file move! We have tried saving
the AI
file as an EPS and placing that in a PS7 document, but things still
move.
I'm baffled and would be grateful for any suggestions.
Thanks,
Mark
