I understand that LCD technology has not yet surpassed nor met the color capability of such elite CRT monitors as the Sony Artisan, but I would like any feedback from members who might have had experience with both as to the amount of "quality" one might give up in purchasing an Apple 23" Cinema over the Sony Artisan. I am about to purchase a new monitor and it will be one of these two... I am only considering the LCD choice due to its flexibility, weight, size, etc.
The obvious professional decision would be the Sony Artisan but how "close" is the 23" in quality of color, sharpness, calibration capability, etc.? The 23" Cinema seems to have a "sandy irredescent" look that keeps it from looking sharp (in my opinion) when looking close up on detail areas but I have not seen the two monitors side by side and it is difficult to judge this characteristic- especially when the Cinema 23" is said to have superb sharpness. Does anybody have working knowledge/experience on clear-cut differences that would help me in this decision?
Thank you in advance,
Cody Thomas
