I wish that were the case Mike,
I was using QuarkExpress Passport 6.5 (PC) and Microsoft Windows
Server 2003 with ATM 4.1 Deluxe loaded. I tried making an Opentype, type 1 and
truetype font and tried using the windows font installer and no ATM. I did
check Quarks forums and saw a few others had the same problem; they were on the
Mac.
This would lead me to believe that it is not platform/OS
specific.
I just read that 10.3.6 breaks SMB printing, i.e., you will
no longer be able to access/print to a PC rip from your MAC. Back in the day,
it was Windows that was having all these upgrade/version issues; now, it’s
Apple.

Your font issue wouldn't be related to this would it...
"... an issue with Mac OS X 10.3.5 in which some glyph
fonts, certain "Expert" or "dingbat" fonts, would no longer
appear in some applications."
This particular problem isn't necessairly Quark's fault, but
rather the OS's. Updating to OS 10.3.6 was supposed to address this, however,
we still run into the problem (with Zaph Dingbats).
